    🏆 Best of Houzz 2018 - 2022: Design & Service

Kitchen lighting gets treated like a practical aft Kitchen lighting gets treated like a practical afterthought far too often.

We don’t do that. ✨

Because the right lighting can take a kitchen from nice to quite the looker.

Here, we layered the lighting rather than relying on one ceiling light:

• Under-cabinet lighting — because chopping onions deserves good lighting too.
• Plinth lighting — a soft glow that makes the cabinetry feel lighter and adds a little drama after dark.
• Ceiling lights — for the overall illumination when you actually need to see what you’re doing.

The result?
A kitchen that works hard by day and knows how to dress up by night.

One room, two jobs, and a pretty lovely view! 🤎 T One room, two jobs, and a pretty lovely view! 🤎

This little study at Vahaal doubles up as a guest room when needed. We have warm wood, louvred shutters, a cosy sofa-cum-bed and plenty of storage. And a view of Mumbai’s skyline that isn’t a bad backdrop for a day’s work!

We’ve shared the full story of this room on the blog, from the layout to the little details that make it work.

Head over to the link in our bio to take a look. ✨

A little kitchen secret hiding behind the wall! 😉 A little kitchen secret hiding behind the wall! 😉

This kitchen was too small to fit a dishwasher, so we got creative. The drawers to the left of the counter extend right through into the adjoining bathroom, making use of space we couldn’t spare in the kitchen.

They also hide plumbing and electrical points for a future dishwasher. When our client is ready for one, out come the drawers and in goes the dishwasher.

We always think two steps ahead!

Next up on our Vahaal tour... the kitchen! 🍃 It’s Next up on our Vahaal tour... the kitchen! 🍃

It’s a small one, so we had to get a little clever with the planning. Plenty of storage, good counter space, and even a provision for a dishwasher, despite the space crunch!

And then there’s the look. Warm walnut, soft beige, olive green tiles and brass handles, all coming together to make this little kitchen feel right at home with the rest of Vahaal.

Small kitchen, big personality. 😉

The wall opposite the bed in Vahaal’s master bedroom had one job to do: fit in a TV without making the room feel like it revolved around one.

So we paired a sleek, wall-mounted TV with a warm walnut chest of drawers that doubles up as storage. No bulky entertainment unit, just a good-looking piece of furniture that earns its place.

And that lovely window seat beside it? That’s a story for another post! 🌿

From raw concrete shell to a bathroom with serious character.

• Warm, textured walls to soften the hard surfaces
• A patterned tile feature wall to bring in rhythm and visual interest
• A large round mirror to break up all the straight lines
• A chunky black counter and basin for contrast
• Brass lighting to add a warm glow against the darker finishes

Small footprint, big personality.
