Finally, the last stop on our tour of this beautiful home, is the guest room of Manzil. It is the smallest room of this home, yet we’ve given it everything a guest would need to feel at home. Let’s take a look.
Guest Room Of Manzil
What makes this small bedroom smaller yet, is the angled wall on one side of the room. It narrows down the space towards the foot of the bed. So you can see, for instance that the space to walk around the bed, on the window side, has become really small because of this angle.
We considered using a sofa cum bed and smaller wardrobes here. Since they preferred to go without a television in the living room, the client preferred the double bed so that all of them can jump in for some family TV time whenever they like. They also preferred a full wardrobe for the extra storage space.
The Plan
We planned the room just the way the client wanted it. The bed went against the longest wall in the room, with the wardrobe along the entrance wall.
The TV unit sits opposite the bed. We placed the mandir in the space to the left of the TV unit, near the window.
The Bed Wall
The bed has been placed in the centre of the wall. This leaves just enough space to it’s left to open the wardrobes, and to it’s right to place the side table.
We did away with the side table on the left because the wardrobe shutters would hit it every time you open them.
The Wardrobes
We have full sized wardrobes to the left of the bed. We used mirrors on the shutters to visually open out the narrow space between the bed and the wardrobes.
The TV Wall
Opposite the bed we have the TV unit, which traverses almost the entire length of that wall. Above it, we placed the TV to one side and the mandir to the other.
The mandir was made very simply, by hanging this exquisite frame on the wall. We got another carved wooden shelf and fixed it on the wall, in the centre of the frame, to place the idol.
Look and Feel
The client fell in love with this bed, and that’s where we started designing this room.
The headboard is decorated with blue flowers and a green border. Since we had picked on peaches and greens across the home, we used this green to our advantage. Though blue is the predominant colour here, the green keeps this room vibing with the rest of the home.
This beautiful green and blue rug was an easy choice to make.
Sage green made a great choice for the wardrobe shutters. It helps us bring more of the green into the room without going over the top. The grey undertones of this shade make it a neutral base, so you don’t feel overwhelmed with colour.
Finally, all our pretty fabrics and furnishings, in blues and green, completes the look.
Before and Afters
Here is our last set of before and afters from this mesmerizing home.
This is the not so large bed wall.
The bed in the centre ensures we can open the wardrobe on the left and have space for a side table on the right.
The corner to the left..
We have used mirrors on the wardrobe shutters so that the passageway between the bed and wardrobes looks wider than it is.
The wall opposite the bed.
We placed a long unit along this wall to serve as storage for both the TV and the mandir that are placed above it.
Get The Look
Though it’s a tiny space, we’ve packed in quite a punch. There are so many pretty pieces here, each carefully selected to make this room as attractive as it is. I’m happy to share sources of a few of them here.

I can’t believe we’re already at the end of this home tour. I guess time does pass quickly when you are enjoying yourself!
Time flew by just as quickly during the entire design and execution process of this home. This is not only because we handed over the ready home in a swift four months, but also because I thoroughly enjoyed those four months. We’ve tried different looks, finishes and products in this home and I loved every bit of working on all the different details.
I guess the joy is obvious for all to see.
I also hope all the pictures I’ve shared over the last few weeks have given you as much joy as they continue to give me. In case you have missed any of them you can find them by clicking here.
Our next project is almost ready for reveal and coming up really soon. Click here to sign up so you don’t miss it!
Until next time,
