It’s that time of the year again. Time to cozy up with cushions and quilts, and all kinds of soft furnishings in our bedrooms and living rooms. And in case you’re wondering where to source them, I’m here to share all my latest sources with you. It’s time for our furnishing roundup 2024.
Furnishing Roundup
From simple solids in single colours, to all kinds of prints, patterns, and weaves, we’ve used a whole range of furnishings over our last few projects. Let me show you where we got them from.
Cushions
The easiest way to add warmth, colour, and comfort to any space, is to throw in some cushions. They work wonders on sofas, chairs, benches, beds.. or even just tossed on the floor.
Forever Neutrals
This handsome sofa needed cushions that are as rich and textural as its leather upholstery. We went with creams and beiges so that we have a stark contrast to the brown of the leather. The white tufted pattern on the Zulu cushion gives us the natural texture we were looking for, as does the simple zig-zag stitch and fringe on the lumbar cushion.
We picked a mix of neutrals with leather for the lumbar cushion on the chair alongside the sofa. It ties in perfectly with the leather upholstery of the sofa, doesn’t it?
We picked this beige velvet printed cushion cover on the chair because it has a hint of blues to tie in with the rug.
The little pom-poms on the Thar cushion cover make it look vibrant and colourful even though it’s predominant colours are all neutral.
Blues and Greens
The blue diamonds on the Isumi lumbar cushion go so well with the zig-zag pattern on the headboard and similar diamonds on the quilt. The tufting helps add texture against the backdrop of the solid blue bedcover.
Similarly, I love the tactile pattern of the grey-green Svartpoppel. The tufted ‘checks’ add another dimension to our collection of checks on this bed.
The jewel toned blues of these velvet cushions are vibrant and help bring together the peach printed bedcover with the solid blue quilt. You can find the floral cushion here and the geometric cushion here.
Peaches and Pinks
This pretty bedroom is all peaches and cream. The tufted Pierce lumbar cushion with the pretty print in front is a beautiful blend of the two colours.
While the plain peach cushion cover gives it the perfect colour backdrop.
The pretty pink Fern cushion cover playing peek-a-boo from behind the dining table is delicately embroidered with white threadwork. We picked the blue and pink from the rug and artwork of the living area to add a hint of colour to this neutral dining space.
This collection of cushions on the bed is an eclectic mix of styles and patterns. What brings them together is the colours.. and I love how they add a zing to this room. You can find the floral Elm cushion here, the geometric Ameera cushion here and the Tigris cushion with pom-poms here.
The boho embroidered lumbar Peruvian cushions are just perfect for this colourful girls’ room.
Bed Covers
Next, on our Furnishing Roundup 2024, we have bed covers. Just like rugs, they occupy a large visual area in bedrooms and help set up the colour tone.
The textural stripes woven into this navy blue Rizwan bed cover give all the visual interest we need without adding any more pattern to this space.
I used the same principle while selecting this grey green Kolax bedspread for this young boy’s room.
The colour scheme of this room involves two colours, pink and blue. So we went with blues on the headboard and the Skarmlilja bedcover, paired with the pinks on the cushions and quilt.
We wanted to keep the focus on this wallpaper in this pretty girl’s room. So we picked the Jenny bedcover. The beautiful applique work ensures that it’s an exciting addition to this space.
The Juliana bed cover is quite the opposite. With it’s bright florals and delicate kantha work it isn’t lost in the background. It makes a statement and adds to the beautiful ethnic vibe of this room.
The Mehulika bedcover adds a burst of colour to this vibrant girls’ room.
This blue and white master bedroom is an amalgamation of Mediterranean colours with Indian motifs. The Jonna bedcover with it’s shibori print fits in perfectly.
The striped Trushita bed cover has undertones of lavender, yet helped us to break the monotony of an all purple room thanks to the multi-coloured stripes.
Quilts and Throws
Finally, we end our furnishing roundup 2024 with all the cozies we’ve used over the last year.
This reversible dohar not only goes well with the colours and patterns of this room, but is also super soft and light.. perfect for a city like Mumbai where we don’t really have a winter!
We used the Vitklover duvet cover and pillow case set for this young boy’s room. The colours are just right and the pattern light and easy on the eye for this small room.
We picked the floral, peachy Vardaniya quilt for this pretty master bedroom. It blends gracefully with the rest of the bedding to create a soothing vibe.
The indigo Sameera quilt makes a vivid contrast with the peach floral bedcover.
The blue Anaisha quilt, on the other hand, has a bold white motif on it. The blue and white together go wonderfully well with the other furnishings of this bedroom.
Finally, a hand-knit cotton throw to cozy up the day bed on this gorgeous terrace. After all, you would need a little something to slip your feet under as the sun sets on a winter evening.
