Today we have a wallpaper round up of all the wallpaper we’ve used in our projects over the last year.
If you’ve been following all our project reveals, you would have noticed that I use wallpaper quite regularly in my spaces. People usually feel very strongly about using wallpaper. They either love the idea, or hate it. I quite enjoy using wallpapers for many reasons.
- The quality available is brilliant.
- It doesn’t cost an arm and a limb.
- The variety of designs to choose from is mind-blowing.
So if I dream up a design, I can implement it even on a lower budget and a tight time frame using wallpaper. Read on to see what I mean.
Wallpaper Round Up
In this post I’ve got all the wallpapers we’ve used in all our project reveals over the last one year. You’ve seen them before in the respective room reveals. But I’ve put them together in one post here. That helps when you’re looking for ideas of where and how you can use wallpaper to different effect. I’ve also linked to the source where possible or given the product code number so that you can order a particular wallpaper if you want the exact same one. Let’s get right to our wallpaper round up.
(1) The Textured Bricks by Wallskin
We used this in our foyer behind the Buddha. I wanted some kind of a textured brick or stone wall finish. There’s also that window we’ve hidden in there. You can faintly see the line on the right side of the panel. We figured wallpaper would be much cheaper and easier to do than putting actual stone on that wall, what with the openable window in the middle of it all. And I love how it turned out.

(2) Damask by Marshalls Wallcoverings
We used this behind the bed in this master bedroom. I was looking to give the room a really rich, extravagant, yet subtle look. This wallpaper fit the bill perfectly. You can see the texture in the close up. It looks like we’ve clad the wall with fabric and that’s made the room look very luxurious.

(3) Stripes by Marshalls Wallcoverings
This little boy’s favourite colour was red. I couldn’t imagine giving him an all red room. We brought in the blue to cool it down some. This red and blue striped wallpaper was just perfect. It’s more blue than red, it’s stripes and all boy and it brings in the red too. We were all happy with this one!

(4) Zebra Stripes by Wallskin
We used these beautiful stripes all over this little girl’s jungle themed room. I loved the bold pattern on this one. This is also the first time that I used wallpaper on furniture. We used it in bits and pieces on random storage and wardrobe shutters here and there and I think it looks quite sweet.

(5) Foliage by Marshalls Wallcoverings
We used that gorgeous green foliage also in the same room. It completed our jungle theme. A bit of animal, add some jungle and the wood from the headboard and door gave us our complete jungle.

(6) Geometric by Marshalls Wallcoverings
We used this monochromatic geometric in this office. It was a rental office space, so we had a tight budget and a short timeline in which to make this office look great. The black and white worked beautifully with the wood tones. The geometric gave a burst of pattern without looking out of place in an office. And we managed to stay within the budget and the time frame given.

(7) The Royal Vintage Pattern by Wallskin
Next in our wallpaper round up comes this beautiful pattern we used in this dining area. Since it’s a small nook I thought 3 plain white walls would make this corner look too sanitized. Yet I didn’t want too much colour or pattern for the same reason. In a small corner, away from direct sunlight, it would be too overbearing. This pattern was perfect for this space. It added some interest without being too heavy.

(8) Blue Flower Embroidery by Wallskin
This wall was looking far too plain. We wanted a little bit of pattern to break the monotony. Since the other patterns used in the room were somewhat traditional we thought we’d go in for an ethnic pattern with the wallpaper too.
I still think it’s really pretty and this remains one of my favourite wallpapers.

(9) Cream Pattern by Style My Space
With the 2 plain mirrors on either side, we had to break up that plain wall with some pattern. This simple cream coloured pattern went perfectly with our shades-of-white look.

(10) The Bronze Lotus by Wallskin
We end our wallpaper round up with this stunning 3D wallpaper we used at this entrance. We were looking for a drop-dead-gorgeous kind of look. Something that would make you stop in your tracks and look again. And all we had was this huge white blank wall. This wallpaper, with an LED strip throwing some soft light on it, worked perfectly here. The effect is great and people realise only after they touch it that it is wallpaper and not a wooden carved panel.

Glad you liked them, Debasree! 🙂
Dear Rittika, high time you wrote about the use of wall papers in your designs. You have used them so brilliantly in your home and in our office. In fact our clients have commented that the wall paper is so attractive that it distracts them during their meetings!
Ha-ha.. not sure that’s a good thing Rashi! 🙂 But thank you!
Less expensive.. Less mess… Less time
Wow good idea…
