We finally come to an end of the tour of this vibrant home today. After starting with the entrance and foyer, we took a look at the bedrooms and bathrooms. Next came the more public spaces with the kitchen and living area. And though we’ve almost wrapped it up, there are two little areas still remaining, which I have clubbed into this single post. Let’s end this tour with the study and balcony of Sylver.
Study and Balcony of Sylver
I am sure you are wondering why I have clubbed these two spaces together in one post. No, the balcony is not attached to the study. They are, in fact, nowhere close to each other and not connected in any way. Except that they are part of the same beautiful home.
While one is tiny, closed and cozy, and placed just off the entrance of the home, the other is large with an unending, expansive view, and is an extension of the living room.
The only reason I have them both here together is because they are the only two remaining areas of the home. Neither is a large space requiring an entire post to cover it. And so I thought I’d cover both in one post. So here goes.
Study of Sylver
Do you remember how we had divided the originally large open kitchen of this home into two with a wall? The study is what we got on the far side of the kitchen.
The homeowners wanted this small space to work as a home office, and also double up as a second guest room when required.
We placed the study table against the only window to this room and used a comfortable sectional sofa-cum-bed to make the sleeping area.
The Sleeping Area
This large, sectional sofa-cum-bed makes up all of our seating and sleeping area in this room.
As you can see, it fits almost end to end across the width of the room, leaving just enough space for these light side tables on both sides. It easily opens out into a double bed.
Opposite the sofa we have a small storage cum TV unit that we custom made on site and finished with this lovely wallpaper pattern.
You’ll probably recognise this artwork from the kitchen, which we used here temporarily for this shoot because the TV had not yet been installed here on shoot day.
The TV unit adds a bit of whimsy to this almost white room, and storage space for guests when they are over.
The Study Area
While on one side of the sofa we have the entrance door to this room, on the other side is the door to the bathroom.
The space between the bathroom and the opposite wall of the room makes a perfect niche to fit in the study table.
Though the lone window to this room is a large one, it overlooks the kitchen dry balcony. So it doesn’t really have a great view. We did our best to overcome this problem. For one, we made sure the part of the dry balcony overlooking this window was kept clear. The washing machine, sink, AC outdoor units are all placed on both sides of this window, making sure nothing is in front of it.
We also added a rod for hanging planters to add a curtain of fresh greens to the view. This will only get prettier as the money plant thickens and grows out.
The Colours
Since this is a small space, we avoided too much colour or pattern, to keep it easy on the eyes.
This gently patterned rug in almost natural colours adds a little zing to the almost all white interior of this room.
The large wooden coffee table gives warmth to this place. The single drawer also makes space to organise the little things like remote controls, coasters etc.
The gold end tables are again light in terms of colour and style.
On the opposite wall, once again we have a patterned cabinet in white.. interesting and yet not heavy. All the furnishings used are also gentle patterns on whites.
Overall, this makes this small room comfortable and cozy without looking heavy and cramped up.
The Balcony of Sylver
The words ‘cramped’, ‘tiny’ and ‘heavy’ will not ever pop up into your head when you step into the balcony of this home. It’s a wide deck with an uninterrupted view and you are more likely to think ‘grand’ and ‘magnificent’ if you are sitting here watching the sun set.
On the extreme right corner, you do get a view of the building itself.
The left side though, is completely unobstructed.
No, we didn’t actually use a rug in the balcony. But I did think it was large enough to use tiles here like I would normally use a rug. The black, white and wood immediately makes this balcony warm and inviting, and gives us the perfect backdrop against which to add as much colour as possible.
This we did in the form of the beautiful mosaic coffee table, the planter frames on the wall and of course, the natural flowers which will only become more colourful as the grow and bloom.
The wooden rafters on the ceiling again look to enclose the wide expanse and make it cozy.
We all ended shoot day watching the sun set with a cup of coffee here. It is one of my most beautiful memories of a last day on ‘site’.

This wraps up not only this post, but also all of the tour of Sylver.
We had a perfectly symbiotic relationship with the clients here. They knew exactly what they wanted from their home in terms of their requirements and general look and feel. Yet they trusted my vision completely when it came to the design.
At the end I look back with a smile at not just the end result, which is an efficient use of space, optimum functionality and an aesthetically attractive home. But also the entire process by which we got here which was all smiles for all of us, all the way.
Click here to see all of this utterly gorgeous home. And I promise to be back to share our next project with you very soon.
Until next time,
.

To tell the truth, I really like how this sofa-cum-bed fits into the interior of the room because it looks so harmonious with other furniture. Also, it seems to me that everything is truly thought out and multifunctional which makes a great difference. I can say that the color scheme adds a special charm to the accommodation and creates such an aesthetic visual component. From my point of view, such a color scheme also contributes to creating more coziness and a warm atmosphere, which is really important for feeling comfortable. All details complement each other and i really like that the space is not cluttered with anything because extra decorative elements or unnecessary things can visually narrow down the space. The Balcony of Sylvee looks like a perfect recreation area for recharging your batteries, which has such a unique and original concept.
Entire home is beautiful!!
