I think being in lockdown over so much of the last one year has brought out the creativity in everyone. I’m here with all the winners of #RittikaLookAtThis 2021 today, and am absolutely amazed by the innovative projects and exciting DIYs that make up this post.
#RittikaLookAtThis 2021
Here’s a quick recap of the rules for those of you new to this hashtag.
Whenever any of you shares an innovative decor idea on Instagram, you tag it with #RittikaLookAtThis. I pick one that I find exciting, creative and easily doable as pic-of-the-week and share it on my stories to inspire all.
I also love when you share pics with me where you have been inspired by one of our decor ideas shared on this blog or on my Instagram account. And each and every one of those amazing ideas is collected and put together in a single post for easy reference every year.
So here are all the interesting ideas of #RittikaLookAtThis 2021. Let’s get started.
1 – Decor Ideas Inspired By Our Work
I find it super exciting when one of you tags me in a post saying you got an idea from one of my posts on the blog or Instagram and decided to try it for yourself. I try to keep my decor as practical as it is beautiful because I think it’s incomplete if it’s any one without the other. And I love sharing all the details with you.
So when you find a useful idea that you can relate to and decide to try it out for yourself, it’s a very satisfying feeling.
Here are few pics that truly made me smile.
Foyer Inspiration
This foyer gives us a sense of calm and beauty the moment we enter our home.
I was thrilled when I got this pic from @ritikagumber in my messages, saying this entryway was entirely inspired by our foyer. (And what are the chances that this foyer would also belong to a ‘Ritika’?)
Room Divider Ideas
Do you remember this unusual rope divider from our post on Room Divider Ideas?

It was a pleasant surprise to see Prachi from @esthetic_trends post this pic. I think she’s used the idea beautifully to visually separate her dining area.
Nursery Inspiration
Then there was this pretty nursery we designed for a baby girl. I shared all details of how we planned it on the blog.
And I was so happy to see that all the detailed explanation helped Nupur of @homenlife when she was planning out one for her baby.
DIY Cabinet Makeover
We had a very interesting post on 13 Exciting Ways To Use Wallpaper.
Kadambari of @diywithkadambari loved the idea of using it on cabinet shutters, and gave her cabinet a smashing new look using it.
Smart DIY Wall Hanging
This clever wall hanging we used to conceal all the electrical boxes in Em’s Rental Living Room has always been quite a hit.
So glad to see that this idea is still useful, after all these years! And love how Sujatha of @sujawatercolours used her forgotten Kashmiri embroidery to cover the ugly boxes in her entryway.
Painting Furniture
A while back I wrote a post on How To Paint Furniture. Krittika from @willowandlovehome taught us how to paint over laminated furniture.
So happy that Kavitha of @aprildesigntrails found this information useful and could use it to give her shoe cabinet a complete makeover.
Diwali Decor
This doorway was decorated with dupattas for a Diwali photo shoot for India Today Home.
I love the pretty colours that Neha of @decorholicsabode has used to dress up her doorway similarly.
