They say change is the only constant. That I always head to Pinterest when I’m looking for inspiration, is something that doesn’t seem to change with time. With 70k+ followers and 10 million+ unique viewers every month, Pinterest also seems to be the place where I’ve been helping inspire the most. And so, bringing to you the most pinned images from May 2021 from our Pinterest page, makes me happy and proud as always.
Our Most Pinned Images From May 2021
I have used at least 3 of the 10 images that I will be sharing with you today as reference images in projects I’ve worked on. When we come up with some design ideas in our heads for a particular space, I head over to Pinterest to look for images close to what I have in mind. Sharing these with the clients helps them to understand the concept and give us the go ahead to work on it further.
I have used the other 7 in exactly the same way. Except that instead of being reference images for clients, they were reference images for you. They helped me visually explain some point I was making in a particular blog post, when words would not have been enough.
And so, let’s begin with the top 10 most pinned images from May 2021.
Ten
At number 10 we have this sparkling image from our post on How To Glam Up Your Home With Accent Lighting.
No interior space, however beautiful, is complete without getting the lighting right. The accent lighting is the ‘show’ lighting, so to speak. The lighting that we use not just for function, but also to make the space aesthetically pleasing. Using spotlights in niches is such an easy and effective way to do that.
Nine
At number 9 we have this pic from the intro post of our Wood and White Boy’s Room.
We used this as a reference image for this stunning headboard. The solid mass of wood, with that beautiful grain, going right across the bedroom is as ‘boy’ as it gets.
We will be revealing this bedroom next week and you can see how our own headboard looks just as gorgeous. Can’t wait to share it with you!
Eight
At number 8 we have this handsome vignette from our post on 9 Easy Steps To A Fabulous Entryway.
We suggested adding plants to your entryway for a warm welcome with a breath of fresh air. Doesn’t this pic prove the point perfectly?
Seven
At number 7 is this exquisite bookshelf from our post on 9 Beautiful Bookshelf Design Ideas.
The idea here was to light up the shelves to truly make them sparkle. While we usually do that with all our bookshelves, I am yet to design a curved one. This pic will remain as an inspiration on my to-do list until I get the opportunity to do so.
Six
At number 6 we have this graceful bathroom from our post on 9 Trendy Terrazzo Decor Ideas.
I think using terrazzo along with another, plainer tile brings out it’s pattern more beautifully than if it is used by itself. An image like this one only reaffirms this to me.
Five
At number 5 of our most pinned images from May 2021, we have this inviting swing from our post on How To Set Up A Cozy Reading Nook.
Who doesn’t love a cozy nook to sink into every once in a while. Over the last year we’ve all had to stay home for extended periods of time because of the lockdown. Having a comfortable space to take a break in your own home has become more important than ever. This post gives easy ideas of how to make your own little haven.
Four
At number 4 is this study area from our introductory post of our Moody Teen Bedroom.
We shared this inspiration pic with the client for our teenager’s study table, and he loved it. He also loved the study table we made him, which you can check out in the reveal post here.
Three
At number 3 we have this bedroom image. This was, once again, a reference image for our Wood and White Boy’s Room.
We were trying to give the client a visual idea of a wood and white bedroom with a few black accents.
If the inspiration images of this room are so popular can you imagine how stunning the actual room looks? The reveal is out next week, so you won’t have to wait long to see!
Two
At number 2 we have this elegant kitchen from our post on How To Design A Kitchen With A Black Countertop.
Since we ourselves have designed two kitchens around their original black counters, we completely understood when a reader asked us for ideas to do the same herself. In time to come, I am sure this post will be as useful to me as it will be to you.
One
And right on top of this list, our most pinned and most loved image from our Pinterest page. This gorgeous backsplash is from our post on 21 Stylish Ways To Lay Subway Tiles.
I, myself, love subway tiles. I love how these simple rectangles can be laid in so many different, delightful ways. And I love how the same tile can look magically different just because it’s laid in a different way.
Take the vertically stacked subway tiles in the pic below, for instance. These same tiles, stacked horizontally, would have given this space a completely different look.
These were our top 10 most pinned images from May 2021. But there are thousands more on our Pinterest page. And I add more almost every day. So for some daily inspiration, remember to follow us on Pinterest here.
Here’s to inspiring and being inspired.
Until next time,
