The end of the year is usually a time to look back and take stock of the year gone by. It’s a great way to identify areas you can improve on and to celebrate those where you did well. This post does the latter. Today we have our top 10 most pinned images from Dec 2018. 

Another reason this post has come at a good time is that little number below ‘Ariyona Interior’ that you see in the pic above. We crossed 1 MILLION monthly unique viewers on our Pinterest page this month. That number seems absolutely mind boggling to me. I can’t believe that sitting in my studio and clacking away at my computer, I’m reaching 1 million people every month.

And that’s got to make you wonder WHAT so many people in the world are searching for, liking and saving. So here we have it…

Our Most Pinned Images From Dec 2018:

While going through our most pinned images from Dec 2018, I made a surprising observation. I had assumed the most saved pics would be the prettiest ones. They aren’t. Except for a few pics from our amazing balcony makeover, most are ‘good ideas’. Simple, easy, quick little DIYs that anyone can incorporate into their homes.

That is what people are looking for… and that is what most of these images are. Practical, doable and pretty ideas for every home. Let’s see which are the favourites.

Ten

We start at number 10 with this beautiful and functional corner from our post on ‘One Room Living‘. It has great tips on how to get the maximum out of your single room, be it your hostel or your PG accommodation.

This corner, for instance, has the bed pushed back against the wall. It automatically serves as seating area in the day and a bed at night. The storage drawers below utilise that space to the maximum. And the gallery wall and lovely lights reaffirm that practical need not be boring!

Nine

A pretty pic from our balcony makeover, but it does have some functional and beautiful ideas too.

For one, those wall shelves that help to take the greens all the way up the wall. They’re just about 6″ wide, so they don’t take up much space, but do add much interest to the space.

Secondly, the umbrella we’ve hung upside down in on the right. It makes for a quirky and interesting corner, doesn’t it?

And also the table lamp shades we’ve suspended upside down to make colourful garden pendants. They add a bright spark to the space at night.

Another one from the balcony makeover makes it to our most pinned images from Dec 2018. This one is definitely a pretty pic.. but I can see some good ideas in here too. How about using baskets hanging on the wall for planters? Or using a riot of colours in whatever little furniture and furnishings you put in there to add the zing to your balcony?

Seven

Yup, our pretty balcony has been a real hit on Pinterest this month! The main takeaways that I see in this pic are these. Firstly, don’t be afraid to mix up your furniture styles and colours. We have a cane chair, a red wooden bench and a teak finish marble top table. The eclectic mix is what makes this space more exciting.

Secondly, an outdoor space is about the greens… the more the merrier. We’ve even used our ceiling to hang them in.

This gorgeous, gorgeous space from our post on Umbrella Decor Ideas. This one is not so doable in your home.. at least not easily! But SUCH a pretty pic! And a great decor idea if you’re hosting a bigger party. This post does have some easy ideas too and has been a really popular post right since it was published!

At number five, this pic from our post on decor ideas for little boys’ rooms is an all time favourite. It was one of the top 10 in our last post from 6 months back, and has again made it to our most pinned images from Dec 2018. And every time I look at it I wish I had seen this before, when my boy was ‘little’!

Our post on Umbrella Decor has been another consistent hit over the last year. And I love this pretty image myself too. This umbrella makes such a pretty chandelier over the table.

Yes, it is Christmas time. So having a couple of Christmas decor pics at the top of the charts is but natural. Our post on 20 Cute Christmas Decor Ideas has had a mind boggling number of views over the last couple of months. And yet again I find that it is not the prettiest pics, but the simplest and cutest ideas that have topped the charts.

Can there be a simpler way to decorate a Christmas window than this? And how pretty does it look!

Which brings us to our most loved, most pinned image from Dec 2018. With over five hundred thousand impressions over the last 30 days, this one is way ahead of the pack. It is also from our post on Christmas Decor Ideas, and one of my favourites.

That’s the end of our Pinterest chart toppers for this month. The last time we did a round up of our top Pinterest images was in May 2018. That was just before the rains and it was amazing to see so many pics of umbrella decor ideas making it to the top 10 then. Just like we have so many Christmas decor pics make the top 10 this month.
