Have you been ooh-ing and aah-ing at all the pretty fabrics and furnishing you’ve seen in our projects lately? The prints, patterns, textures, embroideries we use in every room add so much to it to make it look bespoke. None of these spaces would be the same without the furnishings we’ve used in them. Hence, this Furnishing Roundup.
Furnishing Roundup 2023
The curtains and upholstery we use are customised. We don’t pick ready curtains. We select fabrics for every room as per our mood board and have them tailored.
Same goes for furniture. When we order any chair or sofa, we send our selected fabric to the vendor. So these usually aren’t ready pieces you can pick and order just the same as you see in our site photographs.
But most of the cushions, bedcovers, quilts and throws are off the shelf. And I am happy to share the sources of those with you today in this furnishing roundup.
Cushions
Whether you use a single cushion on a single chair, or a bunch of them in different sizes on a large sofa, cushions always make the furniture look more comfortable, warm and inviting. Here are some of the pretty pieces we’ve used over the last year.
Blues and Greens
The blue and red rug decided the colour scheme for this room. Since the study chair is a solid blue, we used the printed Nuja cushion on it. I love how the little red dots tie in to the reds in the rug.
Similarly, the hint of pink on these block printed cushions ties in to the pinks in the blue and pink bedroom.
The Pushkar Kutumb cushion on this chair was selected using the same logic. Since the chair is all pink, a predominantly blue cushion contrasts beautifully with the chair while making sure we have some blue in this corner too.
We used a grey bedcover to tone down the blues and greens of this room. Then we layered the bed with the blue printed cushion cover at the back and the handwoven cushion cover in the front.
Next, we have the gorgeous jewel toned greens of this bedroom. We have a beautiful emerald green rug here. We used a light wallpaper and veneer in the whole room to keep a gentle vibe, and then layered in the beautiful greens to add colour and a feel of nature.
The woven cushion cover in the front layers beautifully with the tropical green Shyrdak cushion covers at the back.
In the far corner we have a softer green and gold embroidered cushion cover against the black upholstery of the reading chair.
Peaches and Pinks
Let’s start with our sugar-and-spice room first. Some of these cushion covers are now no longer available. But I’ll share links to the two which are still in stock. You can click these links to find the abstract peach, white and grey cushion you can see right in the front as also the pink floral embroidered cushion you see towards the right.
Then we have this elegant pink living room with a large sectional on which we layered a whole lot of cushions. We stuck with pinks and blues that we picked off the rug. We have this large dusty pink cushion cover with the cotton fringe on the left, and this pink and blue vintage printed lumbar cushion on the right.
Lastly, this exquisite wicker bench in our living room of Manzil. Since the upholstery was white flowers on a pink background, we flipped it for the cushion cover. We have this pretty printed cushion with pink flowers on a white background.
The Brights
This living room is brought to life by bold prints in bright colours, and the cushion covers we used here led the way. For instance, this bright pink Pushkal lumbar cushion that you can see on the sofa. And the almost pillow sized inky blue cushion cover you see on the chair.
On the opposite side we have this bright pink embroidered cushion cover on the chair. Notice how the solid pink works so well against the patterned fabric of the chair.
On the dining end, these deep green cushion covers are the only contrast against the all pink fabrics on the bench. The pink flowers on these ensure they aren’t a misfit.
Do you remember how these printed red and blue cushions added colour to the creamy beiges of this bedroom? Notice how the vintage print enhances the old world charm all around.
And this bright purple and gold cushion added zing to this earthy grey room.
Handsome Neutrals
Just round the corner, we did the complete opposite, using black and white neutrals against the backdrop of the purple sofa. This cotton printed cushion on the back left was layered with this fringed cushion in front of it.
Kids Cushions
The last of the cushions on this furnishing roundup are these cute car cushions we used in this little boy’s room. We paired this white car cushion at the back with this yellow truck cushion in the front.
Bedding and Throws
Quite unlike all the patterns and prints we’ve used in this bedroom, the pale pink Ingabritta throw is only about its texture. The solid colour helps balance out the other patterns of this bedroom.
We used the pink flamingo throw to add a fun element into this little girl’s room.
That was quite opposite to the throw we used in this girls’ room. We used this woven throw with a geometric pattern to contrast against the lovely Blossom embroidered bedcover.
The bedsheet set used in this boys room is geometric and fun. The multi-coloured zig zag lines are mostly sage green, in sync with the colour scheme of his room.
The chequed throw is quite the opposite, with predominant oranges and reds and only a hint of green.
Since we wanted light colours for the bedding here, we’ve picked this exquisite, Aasia applique bedcover and this light grey and white woven throw.
Here’s another room where beiges and greys worked beautifully for us. We’ve layered the lovely Ridhik bedcover with this subtle, block printed dohar.
And finally, this cozy, woven blue and white throw to layer on the beautiful blues in this room.
With that throw, we wrap up this Furnishing Roundup. Unlike rugs and furniture, furnishings tend to go out of stock very quickly. That’s the reason I haven’t shared links to every cushion and bedcover you see above. Many of them are already out of stock.
Many of the pieces listed above might not stay in stock for long either, but this post helps you with the sources I use to procure these. So even if you don’t find the exact same piece listed in this post, you will know where to look for more options.
Here’s to making beautiful and happy homes, always!
Until next time,
.
