Christmas makes me think of mistletoe, reindeer and Santa Claus with a sackful of gifts. From the age of 3, when I hurried into bed wondering what Santa will put in my stocking or under the tree for me, the first thing I think of when I think Christmas is gifts. So with Christmas approaching, it makes perfect sense to me to write a post on.. what else.. gifts! We’re all thinking of what we’re going to give our friends, family.. and even ourselves for Christmas. So here are some Christmas gift ideas that I’m loving this season.
Being a home decor blog, I’ve stuck to beautiful things for the home… things which I would love to own and keep in my own home too. Also, you can use most of this stuff way beyond Christmas.. throughout the year in fact. Which makes me like them even more. You don’t want to buy things you can use only for a month a year, right? So let’s get started…
Christmas Gift Ideas:
We don’t have a mantel at home (we’re more likely to need a snow machine than a fireplace in Mumbai!). So I’m using the top of my sideboard to make the living room look Christmas-y.
Do you remember the post we did on sofa styling with cushion covers from VLiving? Well, they do much more than just cushion covers. I absolutely love this Moroccan print runner. It provides a great base for all the red and green you want to put on top, and the print is lovely for use all through the year. The quality, as always, is impeccable. You don’t have to worry about pom-poms falling and disintegrating at the drop of a hat.
Christmas Gift Ideas by Inspirasia Lifestyle:
I’ve used this decoupage leaf platter by Neelu of Inspirasia Lifestyle as a base for my Christmas decor. It actually comes with a small glass bowl and is perfect for serving starters.
On the other end, the white cake stand makes a perfect base for my red candles. And it would be just as perfect with little cupcakes on it! The cutwork flowers at the border are such a pretty detail, and it is available in other colours too.
Neelu’s love for beautiful and stylish things started in childhood. She started with making candles a few years back. The appreciation she received encouraged her to increase her range of products. In 2012 she launched Inspirasia Lifestyle which now offers home decor, utility and gifting options for any occasion. They have a wide range of quirky, trendy and vintage designs and prints, and you must check out their Facebook page if you’re short of Christmas gift ideas.
The kettle lamp is another pretty thing that will easily fit onto most tables and light up any corner you want. It comes with a string of fairy lights inside and there are so many colours to choose from.
The pretty chalkboard tray is one of my faves. Whether you use it to bring together your collectibles on your centre table, or serve breakfast in bed with a personalised note to your better half..
.. it will keep your home looking festive all year round.

Stockings by MyHri Gifts:
The stockings were custom made by Shaili of MyHri Gifts. Since I don’t have hooks there, I stuck the loops with cello-tape to the insides of the drawer front. This way I can continue to use the drawers even with the stockings in them. The names are embroidered on to the stockings and my kids can’t wait to see what I’m going to put inside them. (I would welcome ideas for that!)
Shaili started this venture after her first child was born. Her daughter was thrilled with the personalised cap she designed and made her. She wore it every single day and the gift was much appreciated by her friends too. Soon Shaili started getting orders from her friends, and MyHri Gifts came into being.

And in case you’re wondering about that lamp. I took some cello-tape and stuck the ornaments by the thread on the inside of the lampshade. It took me about a minute to do and will take 30 secs to pull off.. That’s a super easy Christmas DIY for you!
Christmas Gift Ideas by 3S Design Studio:
I also loved this tableware by 3S Design Studio. Shuchita, an interior designer for the last 15 years, has always loved interesting and usable home accessories. She started her journey into these products while helping a friend out with some corporate gifts. Her products were much appreciated, and 3S Design Studio was born.
The hand painted coasters are bright and beautiful. I love the gorgeous array of colours on them, but you can also have them customised as per your colour scheme.
The platter is cut from a natural piece of wood and so no 2 platters will be exactly the same.
And the natural, wooden candle stand is perfect for anywhere, anytime..

Christmas Gift Ideas by VLiving:
Behind the candle stand you can see the pretty cushion covers by VLiving. With a degree from the prestigious National Institute of Design, Vaishali launched the ‘Vaishali Design Studio’ in 1997. Her journey has been one marked by a passion for all things design. The red and white colours are perfect for Christmas and the detailing with the pom-poms and the gold cord is beautiful.
Their pom-pom garlands are amazing too. You can find the dove garland here and he Christmas tree garland here. Mandalas by Raina:
Artwork is always a great gift, whatever the occasion! And I loved these mandalas by Raina the first time I saw them.
From black and whites…
.. to vibrant colours…
She does them all beautifully.
Raina started out as a ‘doodler’ in her MBA classes, and has not stopped since. Now a Business Development Professional in Bangalore during the day, she is almost always an artist in her free time.
Her focus remains largely on Mandala, Zentangle and Geometric art, though she is also exploring abstract art. Recently, she has started to take custom commissions. This means you can give her a basic idea of your colours / occasion / theme and get yourself or your loved ones some beautiful, personalised artwork.

String Art by The Knotty Threads:
Ekta was introduced to string art while browsing through Pinterest. She saw a piece of art which made her think, ‘Let me try this’. That was the beginning of ‘The Knotty Threads’. I saw her work on Instagram and it instantly blew me away. From wall decor..
.. to name plates, she showcases a wide range of products. It’s been just 2 years since she launched ‘The Knotty Threads’ and she has already received a string of awards, including the Young Entrepreneurs Award from the Aditya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 from Thakur College of Science and Commerce and the Pink Power for Women Entrepreneurs by Inorbit.
She makes beautiful, specialised pieces for your loved ones.
The photo frames would make great personalised gifts.
Add photographs of memories you have made with the person you’re gifting it to, to make it even more special.
Again, these are evergreen gifts.. though she also has Christmas specific gifts if that’s what you’re looking for.

Green Gifts by The Green Nook:
And finally, if all other Christmas gift ideas fail, and you’re completely confused, and just not sure what the person will like.. a plant is always a safe bet!
The Green Nook by Twanni, has the prettiest little planters and terrariums.
It all started for Twanni when her daughter came back from school one day, and asked for fishbowls, soil, moss, Coco peat and tiny plants… her daughter’s school project was enough to get Twanni hooked.
She threw herself into this and got her hands dirty. Though still a CA by day, Twanni has been creating beautiful terrariums and gifting them to her friends, who are lovin’ it!
She recently launched The Green Nook, her own little business to take her passion further. She has a range of cute Christmas terrariums with little Santas and fairy lights..
.. or red pebbles in a planter to make a perfect Christmas gift.

That’s a whole lot of Christmas gift ideas already! And by now you’ve probably figured out what all these gifts have in common. The women behind them. They all dreamed a dream and followed it. Many of them have other day-time jobs and all of them have a zillion other responsibilities.. but that hasn’t stopped them from following their passions and chasing their dreams.
And Christmas, to me, will always be about magic and dreams coming true. So go ahead and pick one of these magical gifts this Christmas… and spread the joy of dreams to your loved ones!
We also have a series of giveaways coming up on Instagram in the coming days, so do follow us there for updates.
Until next time,
