I am really excited to be sharing the bathrooms of Falak Azura with you today. We re-did a total of four bathrooms. Of these, two were existing bathrooms that we made over. The other two, we created from absolutely nothing… and that’s the most exciting part!
The Bathrooms of Falak Azura
Just like with the two kitchens, the most obvious thing you’ll see in all four bathrooms of Falak Azura, is the use of the colour blue. It is truly the family’s favourite colour, with even the two young girls picking a deep aquamarine for their bathroom over pinks or the more obvious lighter girly shades.
But considering they are all in shades of blue, each one has a distinct personality of its own, and is very different from the other. Let me show you…
Powder Bathroom
This barely there bathroom is by far the smallest one I have ever worked on. Given its size, we couldn’t do much in terms of changing the plan. As you enter the powder bathroom, you first have the wash basin just adjacent to the door. The WC is right next to it in the far corner. Though, considering the size of this space, no corner is truly ‘far’!
We didn’t change the plan, but we did go about giving this bathroom a complete makeover in terms of ‘look’.
This bathroom originally had a wash basin counter. I thought the space is too small for a counter and did away with that. We used a slender pedestal basin instead, which looks stylish while occupying much less physical space.
We used the small size of the bathroom to our advantage, making it dark and moody. Grey stone finish tiles run along the lower walls and the floor, with a grey, textured wallpaper covering the upper walls and ceiling. A single strip of bright, blue Moroccan tiles brightens up the space in terms of colour, pattern. With an LED strip running along these tiles, they light up the space quite literally too.
We used two capsule mirrors, one each above the basin and the WC to add some depth to the small space. A silvery grey light pendant light between the two adds a little more illumination to the bathroom.
As you step into the bathroom in the low light, the dark walls seem to fade into the darkness and you don’t realise how close they really are all around you.
Master Bathroom
The master bathroom of Falak Azura is the absolute opposite of the powder bath. It is the largest bathroom of the home. With a big window opening on to the terrace, it is not only spacious but also has a whole lot of natural light flowing in and brightening it up.
As you enter the master bathroom, you have a long basin counter in front of you with the WC to the right. The shower is enclosed on the left side. It has a large window that opens on to the terrace, and so this bathroom has an amazing green view.
As you step into the bathroom, you have the basin counter right in front of you.
The WC is to the right of the basin. This side of the master bathroom is completely black and white.
The pattern rising up from the floor on to the wall behind the WC is my absolute favourite part of this design.
Exactly opposite the WC is the shower area. With the 3D aquamarine tiles completely enclosing the shower area, this part of the bathroom is bursting with colour. The patterned floor runs across from one side to the other tying in the two and bringing them together.
The window you see in the shower area opens onto the far end of the terrace, which you saw earlier, in this post. It’s away from the main seating area of the terrace. We put in a row of plants along the entire length of the window on the terrace side. This helps block the view straight into the bathroom.
It also makes for a fabulous green view from the inside out. The window has also been fitted with a roller blind which can be brought down for complete privacy.
The Girls’ Bathroom
The girls’ bathroom of Falak Azura is pretty, fun and young… and highlighted by tiles which are a greenish shade of blue.
Here too we have the basin counter on the wall facing the door, with the WC on one side and the bathing area on the other. Since the master bathroom got the spectacular shower, the girls get the bath tub with a jacuzzi.
As you enter the bathroom you are faced with a large basin counter.
The WC is to the right of the counter.
With the jacuzzi on the left.
We have a built in niche along the entire length of the bath tub. This gives enough space to keep all the bathing products required… and even some candles and a glass of wine. You can create an extremely relaxing and romantic vibe by turning down all the other lights and soaking in the bathtub with just the niche lit up.
I love the mix of terrazzo and the blue-green textured subway tiles in this bathroom.
The rose gold pendant lights and bath fittings add the bit of pink in the bathroom. Add to that the gold mosaic mirror frame and you have all the girly vibes you need.
The overall look is young and fun, yet oh so glamourous!
Mother’s Bathroom
We had originally not planned to remodel this bathroom. But when we realised a few of the existing tiles were broken, the client decided to give this one a fresh makeover too.
We didn’t change the layout and plumbing in this bathroom. The basin was at the entrance with the WC next to it and the shower at the far end. We left these exactly where they were, changing only the tiles to make it look brand new.
This pretty white tile with blue stars did the trick for us. When you compare these to the dark grey that we had earlier (see the before afters below), you’ll see the huge difference they make.
The bathroom now looks so much bigger, brighter… and much much prettier with the little stars all around.
Before and Afters
Since we’ve redone only two of the four bathroom, I can share before and afters of only these two bathrooms with you. The master bath and girls’ bathroom we made from scratch, which means there were no bathrooms before to click pics of.
But here we have the powder bathroom before…
In this case, the dark colour in the low light makes the walls recede into the background, and actually makes the space look larger than with the whites all around shining right in your face.
We have the exact opposite in mother’s bathroom…
With the white tiles making the bathroom look bigger, brighter and happier.

Four bathrooms, all in shades of blue. Yet each one completely different from the other. The powder bathroom – dark and moody. The master bathroom, large, stylish, sophisticated with a fabulous picture window. The girls’ bathroom – young, fun, girly and glamourous. And mom’s bathroom – light, white and pretty.
Though it’s difficult for me to choose a favourite, I think I would pick the master bath thanks to it’s beautiful green view from the shower window. Which one tops your list? Go through the pics and tell me which your favourite is.. I would love to know!
This also brings us to the end of our tour of Falak Azura. From the large entry doors, to the beautiful bar, that amazing terrace, the two kitchens (while converting one kitchen into the girls’ bedroom) and the four bathrooms… this has been quite a journey. It’s been an exciting and exhilarating experience and I am so glad I could share all of it with you here.
But the closing of one door means another one is about to open. My next project reveal is ready and coming up soon. Remember to sign up here so you keep getting updates.
Until next time,
