Today, with the all white kitchen reveal, I share with you my absolute favourite space from this Mid Century Modern Home.
Considering that I cook only once in a while, and usually only when there is no other option, it is highly unusual for me to fall in love with a kitchen. But I honestly can’t get enough of this one.
Let me show you around, and I think you’ll agree.
The Plan:
It’s been far too long ago since I shared our plans for this kitchen with you in this post. So I’m going to do a quick recap here. But for more details of how we planned this space, please click the link above and go through that post once, before you continue with this one.
In short, we enter this kitchen through the entrance passage of this home from the door on the right.
The kitchen is divided into two areas. The main kitchen on the right and the utility area on the left.
The door you can see in the utility area leads into the dry area.
The Cooking Counter
Just as you enter the kitchen, on the left we have the refrigerator followed by the main cooking counter.
Since the counter here is to the right of the fridge, we made sure the fridge door opens from the right, instead of the left. This way you can easily access the counter with the fridge door open.
The hob with the chimney above it are placed somewhat in the centre of the counter so that there is enough counter space on both sides of the hob.
A small open shelf unit houses the pooja.
At the far end of this counter we have the sink with the dishwasher next to it. The cabinets above it house the water purifier and the dish racks.
The Appliances & Breakfast Counter
Opposite the cooking counter we have all our electronic appliances organised neatly together. The tall unit on the left houses the built in oven and microwave. All the smaller appliances like toasters and mixers are stored away, out of sight, behind the rolling shutter right next to it.
The large column to the right of the kitchen door gave us just the right kind of cozy corner to be able to fit in a breakfast table. We left this area light and free from storage, making it a comfortable nook with a view of the entire kitchen.
The Utility Area
Finally, the washing machine, dryer and extra fridge were tucked away behind the wall of the main kitchen to make a well organised and extremely functional utility area.
All White Kitchen Reveal
The clients wanted a light, chic and classic look for their kitchen and we decided to do it in white. As you can see, we’ve gone all white with the counters, wall cladding and storage cabinets.
We found this beautiful white quartz that we’ve used as the single stone finish right across the kitchen counters, backsplash and dado. Plain white PU shutters compliment it beautifully.
But by now you know how I feel about spaces that become boring with one colour and texture throughout. And so we added some wood finishes to bring warmth to the space, starting with the floor.
These wood finish ceramic tiles have a light grey tone to them which makes them lighter on the eye and fit in well with our all white space. You’ll see the same greyish tone in the fine mosaic we’ve used on the backsplash above the hob.
Next, we brought in the blacks, mostly using the appliances like the refrigerator, oven and microwave. We also decided to go with a black rolling shutter on our electronics cabinet.
All of these finishes came together in our breakfast nook.
The graceful waterfall breakfast table and the wall shelf in the nook brought in the richer, warmer walnut wood tones. Black and white artwork in simple black frames brings focus on that wall. The patterned black and white upholstery on the wooden breakfast chairs fits right in.
Kitchen lighting is usually very basic and practical, but this breakfast corner allowed us to glam it up in this kitchen. Spot lights above the artwork and pendants above the breakfast table once again bring focus to this part of the kitchen.
The kitchen seems to begin in this corner with the colours and finishes gently spreading outward across it. And then all the finishes across the entire kitchen tie in together and come right back and end here once again.
Before and Afters
As usual, we’ll end this all white kitchen reveal with some befores and afters of the space.
The view as you enter the kitchen.
We’ve done away with the black counters and beige tiles to go all white.
A view of the kitchen entrance from inside the kitchen.
We used the corner formed by the large column to fit in a lovely breakfast nook.
The original cooking counter and sink.
We kept them in the same positions and organised all the cabinets and storage to go around them.
And finally, the counter opposite…
Where we’ve organised all the electronic appliances together in one place and fit in a cozy breakfast corner too.
.
I hope you’ve loved this all white kitchen reveal as much as me. I really think I could sit at that breakfast table and sip coffee and read a book all day (as long as someone else is doing the cooking!)
Though, truth be told, a kitchen like this might actually even inspire me to cook.
But enough of what I think. I’d love to know what you think of this all white kitchen, so do put in your thoughts in the comments below.

Really loved this kitchen! Can you share what material you have used for the white backsplash and white kitchen counter top? If possible, do share the links.
Thanks Purva! It is a white Kalinga Quartz.
Will you please also show how did you hide those pipelines behind washing machine etc?
We put ACP shutters to cover the pipelines. Can be opened when required to service them.
