I remember writing this post last year, during the first lockdown, and thinking what an unusual Mother’s Day that was going to be. And that we would never have a Mother’s Day like that ever again. But a year later, it seems we’ve come back full circle. And I’m once again writing this post on Mother’s Day gift ideas, sitting at home during lockdown.
Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
I firmly believe now, as I did then, in our strength and ability to survive. And that as with all things, both good and bad, this too shall pass.
In the meanwhile, another Mother’s Day coming up, and there’s never a good or bad time to celebrate moms, is there? But sitting at home and sending her a gift with the click of your mouse is certainly a safe way to do it.
So coming up, some lovely mother’s day gift ideas for you. This time I have a few pretty finds from some of my favourite, go-to, online stores. Let’s get started.
Fab Furniture
These are small furniture pieces that can easily fit into most homes. They are a great way to give gifts that are both beautiful and useful.
1 – Floral Table – A small side table is such a useful addition to most spaces. Use it to keep books, your cup of coffee, bedside knick-knacks, your feet up while you read or as a planter stand. Or all of the above as the need arises!
2 – Bronze Leaf Coffee Table – The shape, size and colour of this table should help it fit in to most decor schemes. That it’s made of metal means it can be used as easily in an outdoor balcony as inside the home itself.
3 – Brown Magazine Rack – A simple, piece that can be quite useful. I use magazine racks in my studio to organise all my files.
4 – Wooden Bench – I especially love the bottom rack, which so increases the utility of this bench. You could use it in a foyer or entryway, as additional seating in your living room, or even a little bench at the foot of your bed.
5 – White Chakki Table – This would naturally fit into the decor of an eclectic, ethnic or bohemian space. But I would also love to use it as a single quirky element in a contemporary space, to break the monotony and add some zing.
6 – Boheme Storage Ottoman and Stool Set – Soft pastels with that pretty fringe and beads.. this would be equally lovely in an eclectic or contemporary set up.
Delicate Decoratives
Though this list could have been endless because there are honestly a zillion beautiful things available, I picked only a few that instantly caught my eye and made me want to get them right away.
7 – Antique Blue & Gold Mirror – The long, unusual shape makes it ideal to fit on a long, narrow wall space. This would also work wonderfully in a pair, on both bedside tables, for example.
8 – Gangaur Wall Mirror – That delicate cutwork is made to dazzle. Also love the tea light holder at the base. I can only imagine how beautifully the light would reflect off the mirror and sparkle around the home.
9 – Wall Mounted Victorian Bell – The vintage charm of a piece like this can never grow old.
10 – Hiranya Table Lamp – A contemporary, striped design in a vintage brass finish, these lamps will never go out of style. I own a pair myself and love their rich presence in the room.
11 – Pods Table Lamp – Love that this lamp is bright and beautiful without being over the top. You could use it with a colourful, patterned shade to make it a showstopper with a maximalist vibe. Or use a simple, neutral shade to add subtle colour.
12 – Blue Handcrafted Mirror – This beautifully carved piece would certainly up the decor of any space. Also, I love the way blues go easily with more colours than any other colour.
Chai – Nashta
You can never go wrong with pretty serve ware, can you?
13 – Aubrey Cake Stand – Can’t think of a better way to serve your favourite cakes and cookies… or just fill it with fairy lights and use as a centre piece.
14 – Fruit Skewer Bottle – This is one product I can’t wait to try myself. I can already imagine the gentle taste of strawberry and lime infused water…

Bar Ware
Who else has a weakness for beautiful bar ware… especially unique glasses?
20 – Taram Round Tray – Earthy colours with vibrant pattern.. this one has my heart.

Garden Ware
Another mother’s day gift idea that you can’t go wrong with. If mom loves her greens, she’ll love these gifts anyway. If she doesn’t, one of these will probably get her started, and then she’ll love her greens and thank you for introducing her to a whole new wonderful world.

Candles are forever. But I have recently started lighting incense sticks at home every evening at sunset time. I love the gentle fragrance and feeling of calm it leaves in the home. And so I have also included a few incense stick holders in the collection below.

Fifty one stunning pieces. I think this is by far my favourite collection of mother’s day gift ideas so far. There are so many of these that I can imagine my mom loving and enjoying.
