It’s been 6 months since we launched our Amazon Store. As with any new venture, it took me a while to explore this new space and figure out how it all works.
More important was the decision of what we were going to list on our store. You know how many million things are available on Amazon. We can list every one of them on our store. But that, according to me, beats the purpose of the store. Why would you come to my store versus go directly to the Amazon page and search for products there?
I realised that the same ‘rule’ that I use for any collaboration or while promoting any product would work for our Amazon store too. Every time I want to buy something off Amazon my biggest worry is whether the quality will be good or not. I check the star rating, read the reviews and only then decide whether I want to buy it or not. If I knew someone had already bought it and was satisfied with it, it would give me far more confidence to click and buy.
And so that became our criteria for listing products on our Amazon store. It must be a product that I have used myself in some way. Either in my own home, or in a project or as a gift for friends and family. So when you see something in our Amazon store, you can rest assured that we haven’t selected it because it looks good in a photograph. We have actually seen the product for ourselves.
Our Amazon Store:
This means that we haven’t added 600 products to our store over the last 6 months… and we are in no hurry to do that. We have added another dozen or so, and today we’ll show you what they are. So let me walk you through the store, one section and a time.
(1) Decorative Accents & Fittings:
Most of the decor products we use come under this section. A couple of products we added here a few months back include these that we used in Em’s Rental Living Room Makeover. Do you remember this beautiful wall clock we used in her dining area? It’s a beautiful copper colour and large enough to make great wall decor. It also tells you the time! 🙂
There was also this fabric drape we hung on her wall to hide the ugly electrical boxes behind it. Notice the beautiful maple leaf rod ends and hooks that hold the rod? We sourced those on Amazon too.
Though this makeover was done a while back, we forgot to list these in our store the first time round. We finally added these to the store a few months back.
More recently, we did this little girl’s pretty nursery. My favourite piece of furniture in that room is this cute dresser which we customised every step of the way, including that collection of drawer knobs, which are now all listed in the decor section of our store.
I am sharing these perfumed terracotta diyas here again too. Though not a new addition to our store, this is a little reminder as these are perfect for the coming festive season. They are scented and oh so pretty, decorated with the little dried flowers. They come in packs of 2 to 12, so are a great gift option too.
(2) Artificial Flowers & Greens:
Though I prefer my plants to be all real, I often use fake flowers in decor… mostly because it takes away the guilt of ‘killing’ so many flowers. This section has all that I have used so far. The latest addition to my collection is this white and pink wisteria I used at a house party. The pink rose confetti you see scattered on the table is also listed in our store.
(3) Furnishings:
One of the most loved spaces in my home is our balcony. My favourite piece in that balcony is the red bench with these colourful suzani cushion covers. And guess where I found them? Yup, they are also listed in the furnishings section of our Amazon store.
Also available on the store is this star bedsheet set you saw in our pretty nursery recently. The colours are neutral and can go with any colour at all, while the pretty stars make it perfect for a little child’s room.
(4) Balcony & Garden:
This pretty bamboo planter is my latest addition to our balcony. I happened to find it on Amazon and so you can now find it the balcony and garden section of our store. It’s big enough to plant a little plant in and I love it’s simple rusticity.
I have also listed the soils I use for all my pots. One is a potting soil, which is a complete ‘food’ for the plant. The other is red soil. In larger pots for larger plants we use a mix of the red soil with the potting soil.
While I Work:
Do you remember the rental makeover we did for this little girl’s room? Since she loved to draw, a must have for our little artist was a magnetic white board. This is the one we gave her so she could enjoy hours of drawing.
Another item we’ve recently added to our store are these chalkboard labels and chalk pens, which you can use on these labels or even on glass. I find these a great way to organise myself, whether to label jars of goodies in the kitchen or the dozen or so drawers in my office.
Though that brings us to the end of our new listings on our Amazon Store, there is another new element on the store which I find really interesting.
Shoppable Photos:
Amazon recently introduced shoppable photos for our store fronts. When you click and head over to our Amazon Store, you’ll see a row of these right on top. They look something like this.
What I love about them? That they not only show you the product, but also how we used it. So you get an idea of how you can use it yourself.
The orange dots point out to the different products from the store that you can see in the photo. You can click on any dot to see that product more closely. For example, in the photo above, the lower most dot is the largest, which shows the elephant knob listing that you can see just below the photograph. If you want to see details of the knob, you can click on that link. Else you can click on another orange dot to see details of that product.
Similarly, the photograph below shows listings of the suzani cushion covers at the bottom, the bamboo planter in the middle of the photo and the hanging planter right on top.
So head over to our Amazon Store right now to take a look at our shoppable photos and see how we’ve used all the products in our store! Also, in case you missed our last post, click here to see the products we listed in our store when we launched it.
The store is still relative new and we are learning along the way. So I would love for you to visit it and tell me what you think about it. All feed back and suggestions are most welcome, so do write in.
Until next time, happy shopping!
NOTE: Our Amazon Storefront is part of the Amazon Influencer Program. This means we will garner a small commission at no cost to you if you choose to make a purchase from our store.
Wonderful idea, Rittika to have an Amazon Store right here and with you vouching quality. Way to go
Thank you! I hope you visited it 🙂
