Hi there, I’m Rittika, and I’m so glad you stopped by!
I am an Interior Designer based in Mumbai. All of you who have ever taken (or have wives / daughters / friends who have taken) a mommy-break must know what it feels like to get back to work after a break of many years. There is a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
It helps that your husband is ever supportive and can’t wait to pop the champagne already…
… and that the kids are independent and happy to see mommy do her own thing.
The biggest doubt, when you work independently, is who will give you work after all these years? I had to have some recent work to show and a platform to show it on. And that’s how this blog came to be.
We were shifting to a new home, so I took up my own home as my first big and full project after the long hiatus. I designed my home and shared the details and my design process right here.
The rest, as they say, is history. It’s been a year since I completed my home and have a steady flow of projects to work on. And now there is also this blog. The readership has increased by 25 times over the last 2 years! Working on the blog is a full time job in itself, and one I am enjoying as much as my design work.
COLLABORATIONS:
One of the offshoots of the blog’s success is that I also now get a steady stream of requests for brand collaborations. The biggest advantage of that is that I am constantly being introduced to new products. Earlier I had to go looking for what’s new in the market. Now very often, what’s new in the market comes and introduces itself to me. I think that’s great for me as a designer, because it keeps me in touch with the latest trends. It’s great for my clients because I have so many more options for them. And it’s great for you, my readers, because I can share all of these new finds with you.
There is one thing I always keep in mind when I partner with any brand. That the only reason people are reaching out to us for collaborations is because of our readers. And the only reason you come back to read this blog again and again, is because you like and trust our content.
One of the conditions in the terms I send out for collaborations is: “The product definitely has to be something I like and wouldn’t hesitate to use either myself, or for a client.”
My second condition is that I always take photographs myself. I don’t use photographs sent by the vendor. This way I touch, feel and use the product myself before I promote it. I have turned down collaborations that could not fulfill these 2 conditions, and even turned down collaborations of good quality products because they did not match my design style and sensibility.
So rest assured, the only products I showcase on this blog are those that I love and would use myself!
THIS BLOG:
What I also share on this blog is my passion for home decor. You can follow our projects as they happen. From planning the layout, to selecting furniture and furnishings, we’ll do it together here. What worked really well and what we could have done better, and lots of trends, tips, ideas and DIYs along the way. Join me in this journey, one brick at a time.
To start with, we’re sharing this set of 4 FREE kitchen printables with you right now. Print and frame them to add a bit of zing to your kitchen.
And this inspirational quote which is one of my favourites.
Put these in pretty frames and they make great gifts too!

Hello,
Do you also provide interior designing services in Bangalore?
Regards
Aditya
Hi Aditya. We only take up projects in Mumbai.
Hi Rittika, I don’t know if you remember me, but I was actively involved in handing over your apartment in Bombay, which you have so beautifully designed and decorated.
I feel lucky to have seen most of the process live, be it the drawings, or the execution by your design team. It was and still is one of the best apartment interior I’ve ever seen!!
I show your blog to my friends, esp the before and after pictures of the amazing transformations. It’s quite a treat to look at. I try to replicate all that I can in my apartment and your latest blog on the Dee Residence fits my needs perfectly.. Our living, dining and bedroom has a very similar layout and we’ve tried to keep some elements you list..
This is truly one of the most creative blogs on home interiors and every project you undertake is better than the previous one. Keep showering us with such alluring posts and epic transformations.
Best,
Mansi Modi
Hey Mansi. Yes, of course I remember!
So happy to see you here, on this blog, and so, so happy that it’s been helpful to you for your home… I’ll consider it a small way to return all the help you gave us during handover of ours. 🙂
Hope to see you around here more often.. and maybe in person too after this pandemic dies down. Wishing you all the best!

Hello Rittika, You have created such a fabulous pieces. So breathy and neat. Best o’luck for future projects and Have a great day!
Thank you so much Mamta!
Chanced upon it yesterday, thanks to Pinterest and I have read it cover to cover. Love your sense of style and style of writing. I only wish you wrote more. The makeovers are brilliant and what reached out to me most was the rental makeover. Most millennials live in rented space – where the constraint isn’t cost but more about not being tied down to one place. I hope you do more of those because I haven’t seen them around much.
Best of luck 🙂
Thank you so much Nikita. It is so heartening to read this. I thoroughly enjoyed the rental makeover too and would love to do more of them. What tends to happen is that people think it’s only temporary accommodation, so why put in any effort. Hopefully that will gradually change and I’ll get to do more such spaces.
Look forward to seeing more of you here!
awesome content. book marking rightaway
