Cushions, bedcovers, quilts, throws… these are a few of the smallest items in a home renovation list in terms of budget. Yet, they are one of the biggest in terms of impact, and a great way to make a little-big change to any space. So today I have for you, our Furnishing Roundup 2022. These are many of the furnishings we’ve used in our projects over the last year, with links to where you can find them.
Furnishing Roundup 2022
Can you imagine a bare sofa without any cushions or throws to soften it up and make it cozy?
Don’t you instantly feel like snuggling into a bed that is layered with cushions and quilts?
Soft furnishings also help to add colour and texture, and any room is simply incomplete without them. So coming up are a list of my favourites. You can simply click and pick any for yourself!
Cushion Covers
These are quite literally the smallest and easiest pieces to add into any space. You can throw one on to a sofa, chair, bed, bench, pouf… or even a large one straight on the floor. Colour coordinate them, or use contrasts; mix solids with prints, geometrics with florals, or combine different textures. There are a zillion ways you can use these to make your space entirely your own.
So let’s get started.
Sunny Yellows
This sunshine bedroom is a great place to start. With block print style motifs on the blinds and heavily embroidered sheers, this master bedroom has a rich Indian vibe to it. We used cushions to build on that.
We layered some block print style cushion covers with a richly embroidered lumbar cushion in the front. Right at the back we have a pair of Blossom Dabu Printed Cushion Covers. The Yellow Embroidered Cushion Cover sits in the front.

Pretty In Pink
An all pink corner with heavily embroidered sheers and a self pattern on the chairs.
We used the Beige and Pink Handcrafted Cushions to break all that pink. They have tiny pink flowers printed on them with pink beads embroidered at the centre of each flower. The small pattern beautifully contrasts the larger one of the curtains and the beads and tassels help add texture.

Minty Greens
We have a bright, floral bedcover on this bed, so we didn’t really want any more pattern on the cushion covers. These three were just perfect. They gave us a whole lot of texture with the linen fabric, fringes and tassels. The lightly embroidered fern helps break the monotony and goes beautifully with the floral bedcover.
From back to front, these are the Frost Green Cushion Cover, the Mist Cushion Cover and the lumbar Forest Cushion Cover up front.

Blue Hues
Since the bedcover is almost a plain white in this bedroom, we used cushions to add colour and pattern.
The Neil Cushion lies between the pillows and the lumbar cushion. It has a beautiful weave in gorgeous shades of blue that blend gently into this space.

Subtle Contrast
With so many greens in this room, I didn’t want to use any more of that colour here and overdo it.
Thanks to the black and white artwork above, I thought the Grey Applique Cushion would not look out of place. The white Boho Cotton Cushion up front tied in with the white on the quilt.

Peaches and Cream
With everything in white and wood in this room, it was only the cushion covers that would add colour here. We used one colour in a whole array of shades and patterns to create a subtly vibrant vibe.
On the left hand corner, starting from back to front, we have the plain Orange Blossom Cushion, the Sahara Cushion with embroidered diamonds, and the Dune Cushion with the little motifs. On the right side, the Drizzle Cushion with the white fringe balances out the colour.
With that gorgeously carved coffee table at the other end of the room, we decided to go with a slightly more vibrant and ethnic vibe here.
The Narangi Cushion with fine zari embroidery makes a great backdrop for the bright flowers on the Bahaar Cushion.
Finally, we used the Morning Dew lumbar cushion with white tassels to just add a little texture to the plain yellow chair.

Delicate Embroidery
The colour palette in this bedroom is a mix of all the neutrals… black, white, grey and beige.. with a hint of blue.
The gracefully embroidered Aalia lumber cushion has a delicate fringe on both ends and is my favourite from this trio of cushions.

Floral Fun
We used simple textures on the upholstery fabric of the furniture in this living room. So we went with happy florals on the cushion covers to keep in tune with the blossom inspired theme of this space.
Zoey is an exquisitely embroidered lumbar cushion in soft colours, while the Persian lumbar cushion is a rich floral print in jewel tones.
The dazzling Mila is a combination of print and embroidery, and helped us carry the floral theme into the bedroom too.

Bedcovers and Quilts
We’ll wrap up our furnishing roundup 2022 with a few bedcovers and quilts we have recently used.
The gentle pattern of the Meghna cotton printed bedcover made a great backdrop against which the bolder patterns of the headboard and quilt could shine.
Similarly, the plain yellow Baraz bedcover stayed interesting with a self woven design. It also played a great supporting role to all the bolder prints and patterns around it.
The white Cross Stitch Embroidered Bedset came with two pillow shams. The quilting added texture and made the bed look more snug and warm.
We used the Coramandel quilt to add soft florals to this soothing bedroom.
The gently woven design of the Suyanshi Bedcover helped us showcase the vibrant cushion covers and Bird Block Print Quilt.
That was a few of the cushion covers, bedcovers and quilts we’ve used over the last year, in our Furnishing Roundup 2022. Though a lot of it is just instinct, I’ve tried to share some of what goes on in my head while I make these selections.
I hope you find the sources and the thought process useful. Also, send in any questions you have and I would love to help.
I will be back again soon with more exciting posts and updates.
Until then,
