There is something about succulents, in real life and art, that I really love. I think it’s a mix of the pretty colours, gentle curves, graceful shapes and at times a surprising bloom, that makes each one look like an artist’s creation.
Framed Succulents:
Though nothing, of course, can beat the real thing, I think framed succulents are as exciting an addition to any space as the potted ones. From a sophisticated pastel in a living room to a cute one in a nursery. From chic, black and white photographs to bohemian pops of colour, you can use framed succulents to glamourise any type of space.
So here today, in our Affordable Art Series, are a few of my favourites.
Realistic Art:
This artwork almost pops out of the frame and makes you want to reach out and touch it. Well, some of these are photographs… and I would love to have every one of these on my walls.
I love the peachy and green hues of this one and have been thinking how beautifully it would fit into the pretty pastel bedroom we revealed last week!
Similar colour tones in this one, and the beautiful blooms would brighten up any space.
I don’t usually expect blue when I think of succulents, so this piece of art came as a pleasant surprise. Considering the number of spaces that are designed in blue, this would be a useful piece to bookmark, and I hope I can use it soon.
The next few are simple black and white photographs that make a stunning statement. A single large piece on a vast expanse of wall would be all the decor you need.
Or a pair of these on a broader expanse would be just as sensational.
Succulents for Kids Spaces:
Now you would think these thorny, fleshy plants would hardly be the right kind of decor for a kid’s room, right?
Wrong!
Succulents also make the cutest pieces of art for kids spaces. Take a look at the following to see what I mean.
This cute fella waving his red blooms in dance is just the perfect pop of colour for a pretty nursery.
Add a little tea cup and a fluttering butterfly to the equation, and it’s cute quotient just multiplies.
Wouldn’t this delightful pair dress up the walls just perfectly in a pastel nursery?
Add a little quote and that makes it even better.
And then there are artists who will customise your baby’s name for you, decorated with pretty succulents.
Or even a monogram like this one.
Succulents in Vibrant Colours:
Yup, you can go bright and boho with these too.. as you will see in the next few.
I love all the vivid colours Prachee uses in her art. While this one looks light and cheerful..
… this one, with it’s dark background, looks richer.
This cheerful row of succulents would enliven any space.
And finally, I love the energy of this set of bright succulents.
Everything Else In Between:
And then there are these, that don’t really fall into any category. I do love each of them though, and had to share these with you too.
This one truly is a sackful of joy.
I love the unusual, gentle colours of these.
And the Scandinavian, minimalistic, deep green feel of these.
.
While researching this post and then writing it, I was truly tempted to pick up each one of these myself. I can’t wait to use these deep greens in a neutral room, and the pastels in a nursery, and the black and white photos to make a bold statement. So don’t be surprised if you see me use some succulents on the walls soon!
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking as these paintings as much as me. And do let me know if you decide to pick up any of them yourself.
